BRIDGMAN, Mich. -- The rain should have stopped a Memorial Day event that takes place every year, right as the sun is setting. But a dedicated trumpet player refused to let a little rain ruin this tradition to honor veterans.
The group called Bridgman Taps Corps has been playing the song almost every night, every summer since 1991.
Chuck Corliss, a member of the Bridgman Taps Corps, says it's a somber song, but he plays it for all his relatives who are veterans.
Taps will be played by the group through Labor Day.
