SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Memorial Hospital is expanding to meet the needs of its larger patients.
So some of the improvements they have made include surgical tables that can hold up to 600 pounds.
They have also added wider doors and closer parking places.
"If they feel like they can't fit in the room or I cant fit on the exam table or these instruments are going to fit me, if they go without care longer its only worse for their health and things like that," said Doctor Andrew McAfee, Memorial Medical Group.
The hospital hopes to make it comfortable for overweight patients to come see the doctor. Memorial says the work is ongoing.
