Meow Mission holding 10th annual Alleys for Alley Cats fundraiser

The Meow Mission is hosting its 10th annual Alleys for Alley Cats fundraiser on October 18 at Bowlers Country Club in South Bend.

The event is being held to celebrate The Meow Mission’s anniversary and promote its mission to trap/neuter/return and respecting all cats' right to life.

Proceeds will go toward spaying and neutering Michiana’s free-roaming cats.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and it will include a carryout Polish dinner, door prizes, cat toys for sale and silent auction.

"We love cats, we just don't want more of them," said Jodi Aker, President of The Meow Mission, in a press release. “Caring for outdoor cats is great, but it's not enough. They must be neutered to prevent the population from growing. Our goal is to raise $10,000 with this event - that will neuter 220 cats, thereby preventing the births of thousands of homeless kittens."

Those in attendance will be required to wear masks due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you bowl, groups will be limited to 5 people in every other lane.

Tickets for both the bowling and the carryout Polish dinners must be pre-ordered at themeowmission.org or by calling 574-276-1770.

Dinner tickets are $19.50 and bowling is $15 for three hours of unlimited bowling plus the cost of shoe rental. The deadline for ordering dinners is October 8.
