Merrifield Pool opened to the public at 12:00 p.m. Monday, June 5th.
Pool staff said people arrived early and were lined up waiting for the gates to open before noon.
The pool has a waterslide, diving boards and platforms, and even water basketball for families to enjoy.
Mishawaka resident, Terry Parker, says coming to opening day for the pool is a tradition for him and he looks forward to it.
"It's a great resource for the community. I swam here when I was in 7th grade I think the first year it opened so it’s got a long history here in Mishawaka,” said Parker.
The kiddie pool is not open due to pump issues but the park says they hope to have it running by Thursday.
