Man killed in shooting on O'Brien Street

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- One man has died following a shooting in South Bend.

Police were called to the 300 block of O'Brien Street just after 6:30 p.m. Monday.

Officials say this is the same home where an 11-month-old baby was shot just last week.

The St. Joseph County Metro Homicide Unit is handling the investigation.

Local resident Viola Sims heard the gunshots.

"I heard the shots from the home. And me and my husband say the police. When we came we just saw kids running out of the house and running in the streets," Sims said.

Police haven’t released the name or age of the victim or suspect information.

“The violence needs to stop, it’s senseless violence. Young kids,” Sims said.
