The investigation began around 3 p.m.
CMHU says the body of a white female in her early 20s was found in the area.
They believe they know the woman's identity but it hasn't been confirmed.
Roger Shull used to live next door to the crime scene.
“It’s just shocking,” said Shull.
“I don’t know what to think honestly." Benito Lopez grew up in the neighborhood. His grandma still lives there.
He says that the neighborhood is quiet.
“It’s always been quiet since I was young,” he said.
Jean Borders has lived in the neighborhood for 42 years. She lives nearly next door to the crime scene.
“We’re isolated at night. There’s no, there’s traffic but it’s not like portage or riverside or something like that. The woods is a handy place to get rid of something,” she said.
Investigators are getting a search warrant for a separate location related to the investigation.
