Mexican national living in Elkhart sentenced to 37 months in prison

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- A 30-year-old native of Mexico was sentenced in US District Court in South Bend Tuesday after pleading guilty to felony Reentry of Removed Alien.
Thirty-year-old Daniel Alvarez-Reyes was residing in Elkhart when he was arrested.
He was sentenced to just over three years in prison.
According to documents in the case, Alvarez-Reyes' criminal history includes felony convictions for Possession of Cocaine in Indiana and Ohio and for Illegal Reentry into the United States in the Western District of Texas.
He has been removed from the United States on two separate occasions, the first time in April 2019, and the second time in January 2020.
