Meyer returns to Ohio roots, steps in as OSU head coach

COLUMBUS, OH. -- Another college football rumor became reality.

Urban Meyer, the former Florida coach and native Buckeye, was officially announced Monday by Ohio State as the head coach of the historic football program. Meyer resigned as head coach for health concerns and wanting to spend more time with family.

Meyer made it official in a news conference. Meyer had taken the Gators to two national championships.
