SOUTH BEND, Ind -- Notre Dame football up to 524 picks taken in the NFL draft after Michael Mayer and Isaiah Foskey are selected 35th and 40th overall.

Most people expected to see Mayer off the board in round one but the magic number was 35, as Notre Dame's leading tight end in every stat is headed to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Mayer, better known as "Baby Gronk" will join the likes of future hall of fame receiver, Devante Adams and running back Josh Jacobs in the city of sin.

Isaiah Foskey a.k.a. the "IF" factor, picked 40th overall by the New Orleans Saints.

Notre Dame's all-time leader in sacks (26.5) will become part of "WhoDat" nation in Nola, joining a team in the rebuilding process but still known for their veteran defensive room.

The Bears, Colts, and Lions also had success in day two.

Lions:

Round two, pick 34 - Sam LaPorta (Tight End, University of Iowa)

Round two, pick 45 Brian Branch (Safety, University of Alabama)

Round three, pick 68- Hendon Hooker (QB, University of Tennessee)

Round three, pick 96- Brodic Martin (Defensive Tackle, Western Kentucky)
