SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Today, people in South Bend will gather downtown for the “March for Our Lives” rally to protest gun violence and mass shootings in schools. This is just one of hundreds planned around the nation.
Over 350 people are expected to gather at the Jon R. Hunt Plaza on N. Michigan St. at 5 p.m.
Students from various Michiana schools organized the march. They will gather with other students, teachers, parents, and community officials to advocate for what they call common sense gun reforms.
There will be many guest speakers, including South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg.
There are two other “March for Our Lives” rallies happening in Michiana. At 1 p.m. there will be one at Goshen High School. The second march happens at 2:30 p.m. at On the Bluff in St. Joseph, Michigan.
