Michigan Capitol building closes due to apparent threat

LANSING, Mich. - The Michigan State Capitol building was temporarily closed Thursday morning, due to an apparent threat.

Michigan State Sen. Mallory McMorrow, a Notre Dame graduate, tweeted a picture of an alert she got.  The alert indicated that Michigan State Police were investigating a threat at the Capitol in Lansing around 7:30 a.m.

It's not yet clear what the threat was, or when the building will reopen.

This comes one day after violent protesters stormed the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C.
