Michigan City man sentenced to over 12 years for cocaine possession, intent to distribute

A Michigan City man was sentenced to over 12 years after pleading guilty to possession with intent to distribute cocaine, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.

Cory Thomas, 49, was sentenced to 12 years and seven months in prison followed by three years of supervised release.

In May 2022, Thomas was pulled over while driving his motorcycle.

During the stop, law enforcement discovered Thomas was transporting over 125 grams (0.3 pounds) of cocaine, according to case documents.

This is Thomas' fifth felony conviction related to distributing controlled substances, reports said.
