Michigan City Police investigating a homicide on Grace Street

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind.—The Michigan City Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation following an incident on June 8.
According to police, around 1:58 a.m. on Saturday, officers heard gunshots in the Eastport Neighborhood and received a 911 call that someone had been shot in the 200 block of Grace St.
Officers arrived on scene to find Demetrice Taylor, 41, of Michigan City, deceased.
The investigation into the homicide is active and ongoing.
