Michigan City Police investigating woman's death

The Michigan City Police department is investigating the death of a woman whose body was found in a vehicle in the 300 block of Holliday Street around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said they were called to the scene to conduct a welfare check on a woman in a vehicle.

When police arrived, they found the woman's body.

The case is being investigated as a homicide.

The woman's identity has not been released.

The coroner's office will conduct an autopsy to determine cause and manner of death.
