Michigan family’s rainbow igloo took over 40 hours to build

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich.—A Michigan woman and her family built a rainbow igloo with the hope that it would “just make people smile.”

Stephanie Newman of Washington Township said it took about 40 hours over eight days to build the igloo.

It’s about 12 feet across, six feet high and comprised of about 450 blocks of ice.

Her family dubbed the igloo the “2021 Rainbow Igloo of Kindness” and Newman is encouraging the community to stay positive and be kind to others this year.

Newman posted a photo of the wintry masterpiece to a popular Michigan Facebook group, Rainbows over Michigan, where it’s collected over 6,500 likes and hundreds of comments.
