Michigan Governor Whitmer announces big investment in the state

LANSING, Mich. – Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced a huge investment in the state that she says will create 450 high-paying jobs.

Whitmer says the Luxwall company is planning to build two manufacturing facilities in the state, leading to those 450 jobs.

The company makes energy-efficient windows, and with some assistance from the Michigan Strategic Fund, will invest 165 million dollars in the two facilities.

“We’re thrilled to welcome this $165 million investment from LuxWall, creating more than 450 good-paying, high-tech jobs right here in Michigan,” said Governor Whitmer. “Michigan is serious about being a leader in clean technology and winning today’s investment proves that the best manufacturing in the world happens in Michigan. Let’s keep competing with anyone and working with everyone to bring home transformational investments in manufacturing so we can spur economic growth and create good-paying jobs for Michiganders.”

One of the new plants will be built in Litchfield, Mich. and the other will likely be built in the Detroit area.
