Michigan reports 2,074,568 total cases of COVID-19, 32,714 deaths

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services reported 1,558 new cases* of COVID-19, and 8 new deaths**.

*Today's daily case count represents confirmed cases over two days (Tuesday & Wednesday). The average number of new cases is 779 per day. 

**Deaths announced today includes 86 deaths identified during a Vital Records review. 

The state has had a total of 2,074,568 COVID-19 cases, 32,714 deaths, and 11,443,884 vaccine doses administered***. 

  • Berrien Co.: 30,536 confirmed cases, 506 deaths, 161,489 vaccine doses administered
  • Cass Co.: 9,231 cases, 130 deaths, 38,723vaccine doses administered
  • St. Joseph Co.:  12,003 cases, 171 deaths, 51,873 vaccine doses administered
  • Van Buren Co.: 15,623 cases, 242 deaths, 84,773 vaccine doses administered

Note: The state of Michigan's website will no longer be updating the cumulative total of recovered COVID-19 cases. As of January 20, 2022, 1,421,905 people have recovered in the state.
