Michigan school doors open for the first day of classes

MICHIGAN.-Today starts the first day of classes for those in Michigan with almost all Michigan students back tomorrow.

There are some changes for local districts this year that you will want to know about. Buchanan had to shuffle grades around, with the closure of Stark Elementary School and Brandywine High School will go back to a 7-hour schedule after more than 10-years of block scheduling.

In Benton Harbor, students in grades k through 8 will no longer have to wear uniforms, but perhaps the biggest change is dealing with 450 dollars less per student because of state budget cuts.
