Michigan takes attendance in Student Count Day













MICHIGAN.-It was a big day for Michigan schools.


Wednesday was Student Count Day. Ninety percent of state funding is based on the count, and some districts pulled out all of the stops. They wanted to make sure students were in their seats.


Dream Academy in Benton Harbor held a 3-on-3 basketball tournament and dance. About 250 of the 265 students enrolled showed up. Attendance has been a struggle for the charter school.


In the first week of classes, only 80 percent of students enrolled showed up
