Middle High School evacuated after threat

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -

Middle High School in Three Oaks was evacuated after a threatening message was found in a bathroom, according to River Valley Schools Superintendent William Kearney.

Just before 10 a.m., the threatening note was found in a restroom.

School officials contacted police and a decision was made to evacuate the building.

Students and staff were taken to either Chickaming or Three Oaks elementary schools based on grade level.

The school also sent out a School Messenger alert to parents telling them what happened and where to pick up their child.

Students in grades 6-9 were taken to Chickaming. Students in grades 10-12 were transported to Three Oaks.

The school sent out an all clear around 2:30 p.m. and announced evening activities would resume as scheduled.
