Middlebury man arrested for calling 911 repeatedly, fighting with cops who arrive

MIDDLEBURY, Ind. -- Authorities say they have a man in custody after he would not stop calling 911 for non-emergency issues. When officers arrived to perform a welfare check, the suspect punched an officer in the face.
The man was identified as 61-year-old Mark Lambright and arrested on multiple charges.
Authorities say they showed up to the residence in the 100 block of Krider Drive around 9:35 p.m. on July 9 with the hopes of getting an intoxicated Lambright to sleep it off.
"After some small talk outside of the apartment building, I, along with Lambright and another deputy began to walk towards Lambright's apartment," the arrest report reads.
"I knew Lambright's mother lived in the same building, and I innocently asked if he was staying with his mother. Lambright became enraged and attacked me, punching me in the mouth causing minor skin breakage and pain to my upper lip."
Both deputies defended themselves and were able to get Lambright to the ground, but not before Lambright grabbed one of the deputies' vest-mounted tasers and tried to take it.
"Once placed in my police car, Lambright attempted to kick out the side window of my door. The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office brought a WRAP device to secure Mark for transport to the jail," the reports reads.
"Once at the Elkhart County Jail, Lambright kicked a Jail Officer causing him pain."
Charges against Lambright:
- Battery Against a Public Safety Officer
- Emergency Telephone System - Placement of 911 calls Prohibited
- Resisting Law Enforcement - Causes Bodily Injury
