Mild, mostly sunny weekend; snowy start to work week

NOW: Mild, mostly sunny weekend; snowy start to work week
NEXT:

It’s the start of a mild holiday weekend. Skies are sunny Saturday with temperatures climbing into the upper 40s this afternoon. It will feel a little breezy this afternoon, with an occasional wind gust around 20 miles per hour. Tonight skies are clear, which allows temperatures to fall into the low 30s. After a cool start to Sunday, temperatures rebound to around 50 degrees. Sunday will start mostly sunny, but it’s cloudy by evening.

The next system moves in late Sunday night / early Monday morning. Showers will start as a rain / snow mix, then turn generally into snowflakes by Monday morning. Roads will be slippery for your Monday commute, and we’ll continue to see snow falling through the day. Our eastern counties (Kosciusko, LaGrange, and St. Joe County, Michigan) will likely pick up the most snow from the system. Additionally, there are some lake effect showers Monday, and our western most counties (LaPorte, Starke) will pick up the most lake effect snow. As the system moves in, it will be windy on Monday with some wind gusts 40+ miles per hour possible.

There are a few more snow showers early Tuesday, then the rest of the work week looks mostly dry but cool. Daytime highs Monday and Tuesday are in the mid 30s, then warm to the upper 30s or low 40s the rest of the week.

Today: Sunny. Breezy. High 48.

Tonight: Clear and cool. Low 32.

Sunday: Mostly sunny early, mostly cloudy by evening. High 50.

Monday: Snow showers and windy. High 36.
