Southwest Michigan voters decide millage issues and commissioner candidates

Lake Michigan College Millage approved
67 percent (12,433) voted yes
33 percent (6236) voted no
Since 1963, Lake Michigan College has relied on the millage to help fund higher education and training in the community.
School officials say it provides about 25 percent of the school's budget.
Without the millage, college leaders said they would have to increase tuition, decrease services for students, and eliminate some community programs.
Chikaming Township Road Millage approved
75 percent (454) voted yes
25 percent (149) voted no
The millage proposal was for the maintenance and construction of roads within Chickaming Township.
It will provide funds for the next six years through 2028.

Mary Alice Adams --- 24 percent (176)
Emma Kinnard --- 24 percent (171)
