Milwaukee man dies after crash in Paw Paw Township
VAN BUREN COUNTY, Mich. – One person has died following a two vehicle crash along I-94 on Tuesday night, the Michigan State Police Paw Paw Post reported.
At 9:55 p.m., troopers were called to the scene of a crash involving a semi tractor-trailer and pickup truck on westbound I-94 near mile marker #56 in Paw Paw Township.
The driver of the semi had stopped on the shoulder of the roadway to inspect a possible mechanical issue and as the semi was parked, the driver of a Ford pickup truck traveling the same direction veered off the roadway and rear-ended the semi.
It is unknown why the pickup truck left the road, reports said.
The driver of the pickup, an 81-year-old Milwaukee man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the semi, a 21-year-old man, was not injured in the crash.
