Minor taken into custody after police pursued him in a field

LAGRANGE, Ind. – Several subjects were pursued in a field by law enforcement on Sunday morning after a traffic stop.

The LaGrange County Sheriff’s Deputy was making a traffic stop around 1:09 a.m. in the area of US 20 and 600 W.

The truck fled before the deputy could make a full traffic stop and then pulled into a home on the 5600 block of west US 20.

Five male passengers then got out of the truck and ran into a nearby field.

Officers from LaGrange Police Department, Shipshewana Police Department, and LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department helped to locate the subjects.

One male was pursued by officers in the field and taken into custody.

Erik Lehman was taken to the LaGrange County Sheriff’s Department and jailed on charges of Resisting Law Enforcement and Minor in Possession of Alcohol.

The other subjects were identified and the LaGrange County Prosecutors are in the process of reviewing the charges.
