Police are investigating a break in at the South Side General Baptist Church just off Dragoon Trail. The break in happened between January 9 and 14.
"It's hard to understand somebody that would break into a church,” said John Fisher, 25-year member of South Side General Baptist. “Some people just can't help themselves."
Fisher filed a police report on behalf of the Mishawaka ministry after learning that their shed had been broken into and some of their equipment, including a craftsman snow blower and a lawnmower, had been taken.
“We're a small church and the equipment was donated,” said Fisher. ”This is the second or third time this has happened. We're taking steps to make sure that it doesn't happen again."
Besides getting officers involved, Fisher says they've also reinforced their locks.
Police say there are no suspects in relation to the theft.
They ask that anyone with information regarding the incident to please contact Mishawaka Police at (574)-258-1678.
