Mishawaka police looking for man who allegedly tried to get into one home, broke the window of another
MISHAWAKA, Ind. - The Mishawaka Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a man who is accused of trying to break into one home and damaging another early Thursday morning.
Police were called to the area at 5:20 a.m. on a report of a homeowner being awoken to a loud banging noise coming from the front door.
When the homeowner went to the door, they saw an unknown man, who appeared to be white and in his mid-20s'.
The man yelled something at the homeowner and ran away.
Officers noticed the homeowner's front door was damaged from the suspect trying to get inside, according to reports.
As officers were tracking the suspect, they were notified of another homeowner whose home in the 800 block of Ann St. was damaged.
According to the homeowner, her window had been broken around the same time the first homeowner reported the suspect had come to their door.
The suspect did not try to get into the second home.
Police have not yet located the suspect.
