Mishawaka Police provide an update on Monday’s Hickory Village Apartment shooting

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. – Mishawaka Police determined the shooting that injured a 17-year-old at Hickory Village was accidental.
Officers were dispatched to Hickory Village Apartments on Monday just before 10 p.m. for reports of a shooting.
When they arrived, they found a 17-year-old male with a gunshot wound to his arm. He was taken to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The teen accidentally shot himself while handling the gun, according to officers.
The gun was recovered.
The investigation is ongoing.
