Mishawaka Police reminds drivers to be safe for New Year’s Eve

The Mishawaka Police Department wants to remind drivers that using common sense can help keep you safe during the holidays.
With New Year’s Eve right around the corner, officers released these tips to help you have fun in a safe way:
- Use a designated driver
- Be alert and aware of your surroundings
- Avoid those who are driving under the influence.
- Stick together
- Monitor your alcohol intake
Police say a total of 61 crashes were reported in St. Joseph County last year, and they want to prevent any crashes this year as you ring in 2017.
