Mishawaka residents arrested on felony drug charges in Berrien County

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. – Two Mishawaka residents were arrested on felony drug charges after detectives saw them allegedly selling methamphetamine in Niles, the Southwest Enforcement Team announced.

Michigan State Police troopers and West team members stopped a vehicle in Niles after detectives saw the vehicle’s occupants allegedly sell methamphetamine to a pedestrian, according to reports.

The two people, a 39-year-old Mishawaka man and a 31-year-old Mishawaka woman, were detained.

Various agencies then conducted a search warrant on a stash house in Cass County the pair was allegedly using, reports said.

During the entire investigation, SWET discovered five suspects conspiring to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and crack cocaine around Berrien, Cass, and St. Joseph County (Indiana) Counties.

On Wednesday, SWET seized 1.2 pounds of crystal meth, 21 grams of crack cocaine, and 14 grams of powder cocaine.

The two Mishawaka residents were arrested and taken to the Berrien County Jail on felony drug charges, which included delivery of methamphetamine.

Additional drug-related charges are being sought against the two Mishawaka residents and other individuals.
