GOSHEN, Ind -- On Friday afternoon, a missing five year old boy was reported missing at Shanklin park and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
Officers received the call about the missing boy and just five minutes later, the boy was found in the pond.
Once the child was found, Goshen parks department employee began to perform CPR immediately, as they waited for paramedics to arrive.
The boy was transferred to the hospital once paramedics arrived on the scene, but unfortunately, the five year old boy was announced dead.
There were many park visitors later that afternoon who heard about the incident and says this is a horrible tragedy.
"I’m just devastated, for someone to go missing in of itself is horrific. I just can’t imagine what the parents are thinking right now. Just prayers are going out to them." said park visitor Nathan Mann.
