Missing Elkhart man found dead in vehicle

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. - The Elkhart County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a man reported missing from Elkhart was found dead in his vehicle from an apparent gunshot wound.

The man was reported missing just before 9 p.m. Tuesday night. According to the investigation, the man had not gone to work as expected and hadn’t returned home.

Just after 3:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, deputies with the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office found his vehicle in a parking lot in the 2600 block of Hively Avenue.

The man was found dead inside the vehicle from an apparent gunshot wound.

This is a death investigation, but the homicide unit was called per protocol.
