ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. – A two-year-old who went missing on C.R. 30 on Monday night was found safe, the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office announced.
At 8:27 p.m., deputies were notified of a missing two-year-old child from a residence in the 30000 block of C.R. 30.
Deputies at the scene learned the child had been missing for approximately two hours before dispatch was contacted.
After searching the residence and other buildings on the property, the Sheriff’s Office Unmanned Arial Vehicle was deployed by 8:57 p.m.
At 11:23 p.m., an Indiana State Police helicopter got to the scene and searched for approximately 45 minutes before troopers found the child laying between rows of corn approximately a half-mile south of the residence.
The child was found to be in good health.
Numerous units and volunteers helped search for the child.
