SOUTH BEND, Ind. - There is exciting news for residents of Monroe Park, Monday night the council adopted plans for a Monroe Park/Edgewater Neighborhood Plan!
After multiple meetings with residents, businesses, and other stakeholders, the Monroe Park/Edgewater Neighborhood Plan lays out what they want to see happen in the area both short and long term.
Issues of homelessness, crime, and home ownership are some of the issues neighbors want to see fixed, as well as how to make their area safer and more beneficial to their needs.
The strategy includes sketches of what the neighborhood may look like, buildings that may be built, and how the neighborhood commission plans to reach these goals.
They are in the right direction towards growth, because the South Bend Common Council’s unanimous vote will help the commission direct funding and zoning plans that they would need to reach their goals.
