ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. -- New details are emerging in the case of Indiana State Police Trooper and St. Joseph County resident Andrew Kocsis who has been charged with felony Theft, Obstruction of Justice, and more.

According to court documents, Kocsis ordered a JBL Rallybar XL Bluetooth Soundbar (a set of speakers designed to attach to utility vehicle) from Trail Star Audio in Minnesota on Sept. 3, 2024.

Tracking information and photographs taken by the delivery driver indicate the package was delivered on Sept. 5, but on Sept. 6, Trail Star Audio received an email from Kocsis, which stated in part, "Upon opening the package, saw no JBL Rally Bar and instead, three stone (sic) duct taped together. immediately took photos and went inside to send this email. At this point in time, am asking for refund. will hold on to the box and the contents until you advise what you would like me to do with it/them."

Trail Star Audio then offered to contact the police and file a report for the stolen items.

"After telephone discussion wherein Kocsis informs the Trail Star owner that he is police officer, the Trail Star owner agrees to reimburse Kocsis. Within few hours of the reimbursement, Kocsis' friend and fellow ISP Trooper, Tom Johnson, attached an apparently new Rally Bar onto Kocsis' vehicle," court documents state.

"Kocsis never tells his friend about receiving box of paving stones that afternoon instead of the Rally Bar."

Further investigation shows that, on Sept. 7, 2024, Kawasaki and UPS records indicate that Kawasaki parts, including horn kit, were ordered are delivered to Kocsis's residence.

"Kocsis reports to Kawasaki and later to Capital One, that he never received the package containing the Kawasaki horn kit and other items," reports state.

"However, on Sept. 8, 2024 Kocsis texts his friend Tom Johnson and asks for assistance in attaching Kawasaki horn onto his Kawasaki Mule. The following day, Sept. 9, Johnson attaches the horn to the Mule. On Sept. 20, Kocsis files an online theft report with the St. Joseph County Police Department asserting that the shipment of parts, which included horn kit, never arrived at his house."
