More storms this evening, Wintry tomorrow

ABC57 First Warning Neighborhood Weather Forecast

Sunday, December 28th, 2025

The first round of storms is moving east but another round is still on the horizon. Many areas of Michiana already seeing ponding on roadways and standing water—be aware of flooding while driving this afternoon. The second round of storms will arrive in the early evening hours, bringing a higher potential for severity. Gusty, damaging winds, up to 50 mph, are the biggest concern with the approaching storms. However, a brief spin-up tornado, small hail, and flooding cannot be ruled out.

A strong cold front is propelling the line of storms forward, and behind it lies much colder air and strong winds. The cold front will drop temperatures to the 20s overnight. Winds will trigger lake effect snow that will last through much of the day. Expected reduced visibility and slick roads. Monday afternoon looks to be the worst time for traveling, but still be cautious on the morning commute. Snowfall accumulations of 3+ inches are possible—totals decreasing further south. Temperatures remain cold as we approach New Year's Day, with snow chances returning midweek.

Tonight: Blustery, rain early, snow late. Low 19.

Monday: Snow through the day, Snow totals 3+ inches possible. High 27.

Tuesday: Mostly cloudy. High 26.
