Sorin's and Rohr's to close during five-month Morris Inn renovation project

NOTRE DAME, Ind.—The University of Notre Dame’s Morris Inn will close Sorin’s and Rohr’s while it renovates its dining experience during a five month long project.

The renovations are set to begin on Monday, November 4.

Sorin’s will serve its last meal on Sunday morning, November 3, following the football game against Virginia Tech.

The existing Rohr’s will close on Sunday, November 24 following the last home game against Boston College.

On Monday, November 25, Rohr’s Test Kitchen, a lobby pop-up restaurant will open. It will offer food and beverage service that will also serve as an opportunity for diners to help pick the new restaurant’s menu.

The new Rohr’s will reopen in spring 2020 is being designed with inspiration from Chicago’s Swift and Sons and Pacific Standard Time as well as New York City’s Gramercy Tavern.

The Smith Family Ballroom, private dining rooms (Hesburgh, Joyce and Carmichael) and Morris Inn kitchen will operate normally during the construction.

Special holiday events at the Morris Inn will be unaffected by the renovations, the university said.
