This new installment in the "Mortal Kombat" franchise is a reboot for the overall story,
It's explained in the story that this new Mortal Kombat Universe is reborn, as in created by Fire God Liu Kang.
"Mortal Kombat 1" ushers in a new era of a new fighting system, games modes, and fatalities for the iconic franchise.
Iconic, original returning characters in this game include, Scorpion, Sub-Zero, Raiden, Jax, Kitana, Liu Kang, Kung Lao, and many more.
If you buy the premium edition, you can play as additional characters, including Omni-Man, Homelander, and Peacemaker.
Take caution that "Mortal Kombat 1", along with the whole franchise, is rated M for mature 17+ for intense violence, blood and gore, strong language.
Now you'll probably want to pit Omni-Man against Homelander, or even Peacemaker, but we know who'd win that fight in less than a second.
