A small number of mosquitoes have tested positive for the West Nile Virus in Kosciusko County.

According to the Kosciusko County Health Department, the virus was present in one of its mosquito traps near Warsaw.

Officials are warning residents to be on the safe side when going outdoors.

They recommend wearing a long sleeved shirt and pants when going outside in the early morning or early evening, and they also suggest you wear mosquito repellent containing DEET.
