Rain, wind, and milder temperatures forecast this weekend
Mostly sunny skies today as highs climb close to 20 degrees again. But, clouds are expected to move in late this afternoon and evening as our next system approaches. Widespread snow should start falling from west to east by 9 or 10 PM. The light/moderate snowfall should continue for all of Monday, transitioning to lake effect snow overnight. By 7 AM Tuesday, we could see 4”-6” from South Bend to Benton Harbor, with some isolated spots of 6+” near the lake shore. Totals fall off to the 2”-3” range as you travel away from Lake Michigan.
The lake effect continues through Tuesday and much of Wednesday before tapering off in the late afternoon/evening Wednesday. Another 1”-3” could be possible from NW St. Joe Co. (IN) to Berrien Co., with 1” or less for everyone else. The 2nd half of the work week looks dry as temps to slowly climb above 40 by the weekend.
Today: Mostly sunny with clouds moving in during the evening. High of 20.
Tonight: Mostly cloudy to cloudy with snow starting for everyone after 10 PM. Low of 16.
Monday: Snow showers all day. High of 25.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with lake effect snow showers. Highs in the mid teens.
