Motorcyclist and passenger sent to hospital after Elkhart County crash
ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- Authorities say a teen driver pulled their car out in front of a motorcycle in Elkhart County on Tuesday afternoon resulting in a collision that injured both the motorcyclist and their passenger.
Authorities say the call came in around 4:06 p.m. of a 2006 Pontiac Vibe driven by a 17-year-old Syracuse, Ind. girl stopped at the intersection of Eastshore Drive and South County Line Road.
The driver of the Pontiac thought they were clear to turn left out of the "T" intersection and onto South County Line Road, but a 2007 Harley Davidson Softail was traveling west on South County Line Road and had the right-of-way, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities say the driver of the motorcycle was unable to stop after the Pontiac pulled into their path and the motorcycle hit the rear of the car.
Both the driver and the passenger of the motorcycle were transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the car was uninjured.
