Motorcyclist arrested after leading officers on two county chase

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. -- A motorcyclist was arrested after leading deputies and police on a two-county chase from Indiana to Michigan Thursday evening, according to the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office.

Just after 11 p.m. Thursday, the St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office was notified by La Grange Police that a motorcycle they were pursuing had crossed the Michigan state line.

Deputies located the motorcycle traveling westbound on Fawn River Road near Balk Road.

The pursuit continued westbound on Fawn River at speeds over 100 mph until it reached Sevison Road, reports said.

There, White Pigeon Police directed the motorcycle back eastbound. It turned north onto Huff Road and continued to US 12 where the motorcycle side swiped a patrol vehicle, reports said.

The driver was identified as a 34-year-old man from Constantine.

He is facing preliminary charges of fleeing and eluding, resisting and obstructing, possession of methamphetamine, reckless driving, driving with a suspended/expired license, no registration, and no insurance.
