Motorcyclist injured in accident on Capital Avenue

Early Tuesday morning a motorcyclist was injured in an accident on Capital Avenue, according to St. Joseph County Police.

The accident happened just before 6 a.m. on Capital, just south of Day Road.

Police said 56-year-old Richard Bowman was traveling northbound on Capital when a deer crossed his path.

Police said Bowman attempted to stop, locked his brakes and collided with the deer.

Bowman lost control of the motorcycle and suffered a serious head injury, police said.
