Motorcyclist killed in accident in Michigan City

MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- A motorcyclist was killed in a single vehicle accident at the US20 onramp in Michigan City Thursday evening.
According to Michigan City Police, 47-year-old Hubert Aaron Hembree was driving south on SR212 and turned right onto the east US 20 ramp.
Hembree locked up his brakes, the motorcycle fell to the side and Hembree fell to the roadway.
Hembree was pronounced dead at the scene by the LaPorte County Coroner.
Michigan City Police said Hembree was not wearing a helmet.
Police also said alcohol was a factor.
