Motorcyclist killed in crash on U.S. 12

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. - A motorcyclist is dead following a crash on West U.S. 12 near Red Arrow Highway Monday night, according to the Berrien County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies identified the victim as 45-year-old Michael Nowicki of Edwardsburg. The crash happened just before 9:30 p.m.

According to the investigation, an off-duty deputy near the area of the crash site when they noticed a motorcycle lying on its side well off the road.

After calling in an on-duty deputy, the motorcyclist, later identified as Nowicki, was discovered and given medical treatment.

Despite efforts, Nowicki died at the scene.

Deputies believe this was a single-vehicle crash and that the motorcyclist crashed into a traffic sign.
