Motorcyclist killed on US Highway 6 in Elkhart Co.

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. -- A motorcyclist from Petoskey Michigan died the day after his bike collided with an SUV in Elkhart County.
According to the Elkhart County Sheriff's Office, Brittany Keomongkhon was driving east on US Highway 6 west of CR11 and 49-year-old George Bommarito was driving east behind her.
The SUV began to turn right onto CR11, then the driver abruptly turned left.
The motorcycle was attempting to go around the SUV as it made a right turn, but struck the SUV when the driver made the left turn instead.
Bommarito was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
Bommarito died Sunday just before noon.
