Motorcyclist suffers major injuries following crash
ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Mich. – A White Pigeon man was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle Monday afternoon, the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office reported.
At 4:30 p.m., deputies were called to the intersection of Banker Street Road and Burgener Road in Florence Township for reports of a car vs. motorcycle accident.
A 53-year-old man was traveling north on Burgener Road on a Harley Davidson motorcycle when he ran a stop sign at Burgener and Banker Street Road and was hit by a Chevrolet Traverse traveling west.
The rider of the motorcycle was thrown from the bike and into a ditch, suffering major injuries.
The occupants of the Traverse were not injured in the incident.
The rider was treated by Constantine Fire/Rescue and Lifecare Ambulance at the scene until he was airlifted to a local hospital for medical attention.
