BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- Lake Township Supervisor Zach Carson confirmed to ABC57 News that Baroda-Lake Township Police Chief Shawn Martin was placed on unpaid administrative leave as of Feb. 26.
Michigan State Police also confirm detectives with MSP 5th District are in the early stages of an investigation on Martin.
Lt. Wesley Koza has been named interim police chief.
The details of the investigation have not been released, and no charges have been filed at this time.
