VIDEO: MSP vehicle hit on I-94 Saturday night in Berrien County

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. -- A 33-year-old Missouri man was arrested on Saturday after he veered off the shoulder of westbound I-94 and rear-ended a Michigan State Police SUV on Saturday night in Lincoln Township.
The trooper, who was standing outside the vehicle while performing a traffic stop, was uninjured in the crash that took place near Mile Marker 25.
The suspect can be seen in dashcam video being pursued by authorities before veering off the road and crashing into the MSP vehicle.
"Preliminary investigation revealed the man was operating under the influence of drugs," the MSP said.
"This marks the second crash involving a MSP patrol vehicle in the district, spanning about a week apart, highlighting the dangers officers face during routine traffic stops. Thankfully, there were no report of any injuries."
Authorities say the incident could have been a devastating tragedy for everyone involved, including the trooper and reminds motorists that driving under the influence of any intoxicating substance is illegal.
