ELKHART, Ind. -- The Elkhart Street Department announced it will pave several streets throughout the city from Monday to Friday, resulting in road closures.

Paving work will start on Monday with Windsor Avenue, from Cassopolis Street to Mobile Drive.

Tuesday's paving work includes Southview Drive from Northpoint Boulevard to the southern cul-de-sac and Northpoint Boulevard from the apartments to Caravan Drive for the first lift/layer.

On Wednesday Northpoint Boulevard from the apartments to Caravan Drive for the final lift/layer.

Thursday's paving includes Northpoint Boulevard from Caravan Dr. to Cassopolis Street.

The street department says there will be paving throughout the city on Friday.

City officials ask that residents remove all vehicles from the affected street before 7 a.m. and to not return them until after 7 p.m. or until barricades have been removed.

The street department also reminds residents not to move or adjust barricades, as they are in place for everyone’s safety.

Street access will be prohibited during the paving process, so use sidewalks to come and go from your home.

You should expect delays and plan your commute accordingly.
